Jaiden was outstanding in the circle for the Vipers all weekend, finishing with a 2-0 record, while surrendering only seven hits in 11 innings, for a .184 opponents' batting average.  In addition, the eighth grader struck out eleven batters on the weekend. Following her performance in last season's Championship run, a lot was expected of Jaiden in 2014. To say she's lived up the hype is an understatement. In the circle, she is 5-0 with an ERA of 1.04 for Owen Middle School. In 27 IP she has fanned 56 while allowing only 9 hits.  At the plate, the slugger is hitting .438 (7-for-16) with 6 EBH, including 3 fence-clearing blasts giving her a 1.250 SLG%.

Jaiden began her Viper career at the age of six, taking up the shortstop position, and has since shown the range, glove, and arm to be among the very top at that position. In recent years, she has also worked hard to become one of the most feared pitchers in the Carolinas.  Opponents often underestimate Jaiden due to her youth and small frame, but that only lasts until they see the first 60-mph curveball blow by them. Also featuring a tremendous screwball, sinker, fastball, and riseball, Jaiden has already pulled off some remarkable pitching feats for a girl her age.

As a 7th Grader in 2013, Jaiden broke her ankle on a play at the plate in the second game of the season. She returned to the mound for the one-day Conference Tournament (3A/4A schools), hurling three complete game victories in one day.  For the tournament, she struck out an amazing 46 batters in 19 innings, including a whopping 19 Ks in the Championship Game against the previously-unbeaten Season Champions!

Jaiden has also begun to take on more of the pitching load for the Carolina Vipers travel team in 12U/14U Gold/A competition. In limited 2012 mound time, Jaiden finished the season with a 9-3 record and an incredible 94 Ks in 52 innings.  In addition, opponents batted a measly .086 against her.  As the 2013 season is gearing up, Jaiden is continuing to make incredible strides. In only 21 innings, she has struck out 39 batters and allowed only a .116 opponent’s batting average, while going 5-0 in the circle. Recently, Jaiden played pick-up for a day with the high school Viper team and faced an 18U team which just qualified for the Premiere Gold Nationals in California.  At 13 years old, Jaiden struck out nine batters in three innings and allowed only one ball out of the infield.

In the recent Queen of Diamonds 14U Showcase, Jaiden pitched one game against the eventual champions and one game against the bracket's undefeated top seed. All she did was fire two no-hitters with a combined 19 strikeouts.

Offensively, Jaiden is currently hitting .429 with twelve extra-base hits in 23 games, striking out only four times in 59 plate appearances. Possessing blazing speed (30 steals in 32 attempts in 2012*) with a cannon for an arm, Jaiden is an incredible all-around athlete.
