Tweed Accepts Invitation to Join Lady Lightning 16U/18U National Team
Jaiden Tweed has accepted an invitation by Coach Pedy Roberts to join his Lady Lightning 16U & 18U National teams, based out of Myrtle Beach, SC.
Tweed joins the Lightning after 8 years with the Carolina Vipers organization where she was a standout shortstop before emerging as a shutdown pitcher. Despite her youth and diminutive stature, Tweed has become known for her dominating performances on the mound, averaging nearly two strikeouts per inning facing much older girls at the highest level of play.
At the plate, Tweed provides plenty of punch, leading the French Broad Conference in home runs in the 2014 Middle School campaign and following up by becoming the first-ever multi-home run hitter in the 2014 WNC Battle of the Border Player Showcase. In addition, Tweed brings her blazing speed (21 of 21 on stolen bases in 2014 Travel season) to Coach Roberts' powerhouse team
